Excursions

A lot of cruises in the Caldera are available in Santorini. You can visit the volcano, hot springs, and the island of Thirassia, or simply enjoy a superb sailing through the Caldera. Do not miss to admire the magnificent view of Santorini from the sea!

Here is a selection of boat tours that we recommend:

I -  FULL DAY CRUISE, TRADITIONAL CAIQUE OR CRETAN SCHOONER:

FULL DAY CRUISE

Every day, with free transfer from the hotel, or directly from Amoudi port in Oia.

Program:
- Nea Kameni: crater still active (1h35).
- Palaia Kameni: stop 30 minutes for swimming in hot springs between the two craters.
- 2 hours free time on Thirassia Island where you can have lunch, visit the village, hike or have a swim.
- Beautiful sailing along the Oia’s cliffs.
Comments in all languages are proposed.
Free for children under  2 years
Crater access fee: 2,5 euros per adult

II - HALF DAY CRUISE:

Two daily departures from the old Port of  Fira only:
Departure: 11h00 / Back : 14h00
Or: 14h00 / Back: 17h00

Program:
- Nea Kameni: crater still active (1h35).
- stop 30 minutes for swimming in hot springs between the two craters

Crater access fee: 2,5 euros per adult

III –  SUNSET AND DINNER ON BOARD:

With the superb Thalassa, with a transfer from the hotel.

Program:
- Free visit to the Volcano (1h)
- Swimming in Hot Springs or Thirassia  Island (regarding weather forecast),
- Greek buffet on board and famous local white wine on board, music.
- Sailing under Oia and the cliffs.
- Hoistings sails (if the wind is not too strong), sunset on board, unique experience.

IV –  SEMI-PRIVATE CRUISES:

There are countless excursions in Catamaran, difficult to make a choice. We really prefer and recommend a true sailboat cruise, as described below, with a classic Sun Odyssey Sailing Yacht, 49 feet:
Semi-private cruise (max 12 persons). Transfer from the hotel and departure from Vlihada marine at around 10.15
We sail through Red Beach where we make a stop for swimming and/or snorkeling.

Then we move towards the volcano and the hot springs, sailing along the White Beach, the spot with the big rock called The Indian and the ancient Light House (Akrotiri).
We swim at the Hot Springs and at the Volcano’s famous healing hot waters and we explore the volcanic beaches and areas (Palia and Nea Kameni) which will amaze you because of their spectacular black, red and white colors.

Then, we move just a little bit further to have a view of the other side of the Volcano, where, while anchored, we enjoy a delicious BBQ lunch, especially taken care and served from the crew. Of course, while the meal gets prepared you can swim in the volcano’s clear blue waters, or enjoy snorkeling using our equipment if you wish.

Afterward, we sail along the Aspronisi island and we arrive at the Mesa Pigadia beach for swimming, snorkeling or just sunbathing on deck. Finally, we sail towards to Vlihada marine, where we arrive at around 15.15. Transfer back to the hotel.

Same route in the afternoon, a fantastic experience with sunset on board near Aspronissi. The yacht can be privatized, on request. If you prefer this semi-private route with Blue lagoon catamaran, you can also send us your request! You can also decide a similar cruise without a meal for 4 hours, with this fantastic racing trimaran Orma 60 feet/18 m.

V: SHARED EXCURSION WITH BIG CATAMARAN:

The tour begins with pickup from your hotel and a short transfer to board your sailboat – the Tahiti 80. Around 50-60 passenger on board.

Set sail around 2.30pm and soak up the scenery as you cruise past landmarks such as the old Light House, Indian Rock, and Akrotiri. The first stop of the day is at Red Beach, where you’ll have around 30 minutes to enjoy swimming and snorkeling (snorkeling equipment and instruction provided). Continue to White Beach for more swimming and snorkeling, then refuel with a hearty barbecue lunch served onboard.

After lunch, stop at the island’s hot springs to swim in the naturally warm waters and bathe in the mineral-rich volcanic mud. Finally, make the most of the open bar as you relax on deck and watch the magnificent sunset over the village of Oia. After an afternoon at sea, return to your hotel.
